Lessons Learned from the Trenches

You've heard about the so-called "rules" -- but what are some real lessons learned the hard way from an author who has published 15 books in several different genres? From pitching agents and editors to self-promotion for that first published book, come ask any question you want from an author who is always completely candid about the roller-coaster ride of publishing.

Speaker: Alyssa Day is the pen name (and dark and tortured alter ego) of RITA award-winning author Alesia Holliday. As Alyssa, she writes the USA Today best-selling Warriors of Poseidon series. As Alesia, she has published nonfiction, mystery, romantic comedy, and chick lit books. As Jax Abbott, she published two books for teen girls. She graduated summa cum laude from Capital University Law School and practiced as a trial lawyer in multi-million dollar litigation for several years before coming to her senses and letting the voices in her head loose on paper. She credits the best editor, agent, and friends in the universe and the most patient family EVER for her success. She particularly loves the Orlando area since she adopted two rescue pugs here in December, bringing her pug herd count to four. www.alesiaholliday.com
